Unkempt

Let’s go to a barn, and wait for a storm.
Build a fire, huddle around it and just talk.
I’ll read for you, a ballad, soft and slow.
You can inturn sing me a sweet song.
When words fail we’ll bask in silence, and mourn.
I’ll drink up the flaming sheen on your skin, supple and soft.
And if thunder roars, mighty and strong.
I promise you comfort in my arms.
With a kiss, on your forehead I’ll seal the pact.
For the Devil lives, always in the details.
